What happens when you don’t have enough imagination yourself and you want to play Pump it up^_~

It’s almost the end of January and that means that ATEI - a coin-op and amusement exhibition is held in London.

This year KONAMI went to ATEI 2008 with Silent Hill: the arcade and Drummania V4 and Guitar Freaks V4. Nothing was said about Jubeat or any other new Dance Game (only that it will come^_^). So it is up to us to wonder what KONAMI will do next. (hypernova?)

Andamiro stand was showing Pump it up Pro. For all these three days you have the chance to try this relatively new game out and meet Kyle Ward. He likes to chat and likes to play and having fun is what counts.

DDR Supernova is there too even though it’s not at KONAMI stand.

The next interesting thing is a new multiplayer by DifferentPlay (up to 72 players multiplatform). The game is based on Stepmania (it looks like StepMania played over LAN). You can see scores in different colors (each player has one) but that’s about it. The game does not have BGAs or even real backgrounds. The interface is mostly yellow and pink which are not the best colors I think.

I did not do Para Para for a long time so I took a video if this routine. It’s not perfect but it’s fine I think^_~.

This weekend there was a long awaited and well organized meeting in Stuttgart. The meeting was meant for all the music games players from Germany and Austria (and who else could come and speak German^_~). People could chat, play all the games as they liked and well in general have fun. This meeting went smoothly to the likes of the people who organized this meeting and by this I would like to thank then and encourage them to another meeting like this.

The games available were DDR, ITG, PIU Pro, Pop’n Music, Taiko no Tatsujin, Beatmania IIDX and even Donkey Konga. As you can see this is quite a lot and ASC were available (thanks to the people taken them there).

BeatMania IIDX tournament was held there.(Cebix won the tournament)

People who got there could also try out the new Impact Dance Platform (not the final version though) and compare it with the new PG Cobalt Fluxes.

A BEMANI related auction was there too. So people willing to auction their stuff could do it and other people could by it^_^. Also you get yourself the new Vierpfeile sweatshirt.

I didn’t know what to do at work so I drew a fast sketch of Hihumi and then colored it (not so much time taken either). Anyway this is the result…

There will be tornaments in both male and female division as follows
* singles bar
* singles no bar
* double bar
* multiplayer no bar

All the tournaments (except multiplayer one) are Double KO eliminations and the “first wins twice” rule applies.
There is no player limitation by country. The entrance fee is 50EUR. (visitors pay 15).

The prizes are
1. 1000EUR + impact arcade platform
2. 750EUR
3. 500EUR
4. 300EUR
5. 150EUR

Starting January PIU players will be able to purchase PIU USB flash drives and use them to mainly store their PIU NX2 scores. But getting scores saved is not the only thing this will provide.
