VJArmy/Pop’n Navy score tracker is closing down after its 5 year long existence that made many of us happy. The site will cease to exist on 6th of June which is almost there. Those who don’t know about this, should log in to both sites and download the their exported scores if they want to keep them.

During the past five years there were 800k scores entered, over 3500 users registered, over a thousand items sold on play-asia and 200k forum posts posted on vjarmy.

With this entry, I would like to thank everyone who has worked on VJ Army and was keeping the site alive. Thank you for such a hard work.

Yes, the test location for Beatmania IIDX 17 called also Sirius begins on the 27th of May and ends the 2nd of June in Japan.
And btw the way it seems that Sirious is going to be actually bright^_~ (white/light blue)

We got a new TV, which is pretty nice Samsung HDTV. So I tried playing some DJ Troopers on it. The problem was that I was getting all goods with few greats (40). So I wanted to compare AC data vs PS2 data on the TV.

Happy Sky AC

-huge video lag (if played according to the rhythm the notes disappear on the targets, not the case of plasma TVs)
-no audio problem (can sync to audio thus^_^)
-clear image (looks so nice)

Happy Sky CS

-huge video lag (bleeee)
-some kind of weird audio problem (ehm IT’S OFFFFFFFF, can’t sync with it at all)
-pretty blurry image (does not look nice at all-_-)
-desaturated colors (I would be fine with this playing gold^_^ maybe it would render it playable)
-ghost notes at higher speed (erm…sucks)
-actually the fact that HS CS has such a f*cked up timing made it almost playable on this setup o_O

I think it says it all! DJ Troopers CS is out. So make sure to buy a copy if you like the game.

…almost. Few more days and Beatmania IIDX 16 Empress will be released (19th November).

Finally the long awaited DJ Troopers CS is announced. The game will be released on 18th December 2008.

Starting tomorrow a location test will be held in Tokyo. Second location test will start the day after in Osaka. All the location tests will end on 1st of July. So wait for more information.

Obviously KONAMI wants the next game pink. I guess we can say that DJ Troopers was more aimed at male players and Empress might be aimed at gals. But anyway who knows what KONAMI is thinking?

Today IIDX Gold 14 was finally and officially released in Japan. You can either get just the game or Special Edition or Special Edition Complete (15,950 Yen).

Today is also a release date for “Puzzle Maya Takamura’s pieces” and L.E.D’s album 電人. Both are part of the Special Edition Complete IIDX Gold Box.

Maya Takamura’s pieces DVD contains 19 videos (among them Xepher, Blind Justice, Zenius-I-Vanisher, Ageha…).

Lately Maya Takamura’s video DVD was released. Maya Takamura is the only female in the IIDX staff. She works along other members of the graphics team on 2d and now 3d movies for IIDX games (Movie Designer). Her 2d drawings easy to recognize. Her lineart is not so strong and her coloring style reminds of water color use (no cel shading as most other artist do).

She brings a bit of lightness to IIDX graphic. She is most known for the illustration of Killer from Genocide. (from IIDX Red)

She has done videos for Xepher, Zenius-I-Vanisher, Blind Justice, Twelfth Style, Little Little Princess etc.

I didn’t know what to do at work so I drew a fast sketch of Hihumi and then colored it (not so much time taken either). Anyway this is the result…
